After you confirm, a later no-show is not refunded, credited or replaced. That is why the confirmation call is yours: you hear the homeowner say yes before any money moves. Starting the call reserves the fee. A verified unsuccessful attempt returns the reserve; an unresolved call keeps it reserved until its outcome is settled.
With a vendor, someone else decides the appointment is good and you find out at the door. Here you see first name, city, zip and time, you call the homeowner yourself, and you only pay if you decide to go.
